Valerie Thoresby, Artist - New work for sale and commissions

I studied at the Byam Shaw, Chelsea College and Wimbledon School of Art where I obtained my MA in painting in 2005. I live in Kent and have spent time in the USA where I taught life drawing, based on the teachings of the visionary painter Cecil Collins. My paintings are in various corporate collections including Merrill Lynch Florida and the Royal Museum Canterbury. My work is influenced by colour and is based on the structure of the image. I am inspired by the Kent coast and also that of Cornwall and Northern France where I have observed various structures and fortifications along these coastal areas. I work in mixed media using colour and texture to achieve an image.
